The Ultimate Low-Fuss Curly Hair Routine for Men (Natural & Permed Hair)

Curly hair doesn’t need to be complicated. Whether you have natural curls, waves, coils or a perm, the key is using the right products in the right order..

If you’re looking for a simple, low-maintenance curly hair routine that actually works, this is it.

Step 1: Cleanse Without Stripping

Curly hair is naturally drier than straight hair. That means harsh cleansers or daily shampooing can leave curls frizzy, flat or brittle.

Stick to a gentle, sulphate-free cleanser and avoid overwashing. Most curls only need washing 2–3 times per week. If you’ve recently had a perm, gentle cleansing is even more important to maintain your curl pattern and avoid dryness.

The goal at this stage isn’t “squeaky clean” - it’s clean and balanced.

Step 2: One-Step Styling (No Complicated Layering)

Once your hair is wet, this is where most routines become overcomplicated. Cream. Gel. Mousse. Diffuser. More gel.

You don’t need all of that.

For short to medium length curls - natural or permed - a lightweight curl cream is often enough.

Our Expert Curl Cream was designed exactly for this: a one-step, leave-in product that hydrates, smooths frizz and adds flexible definition without crunch or stiffness.

Simply scrunch into wet curls and let them air-dry or diffuse. That’s it.

No flakes. No stiffness. No overthinking.

Step 3: Refresh Between Washes

You don’t need to wash your hair every time your curls lose shape.

Lightly dampen your hair and re-scrunch to reactivate the product already in your hair. This brings curls back to life without starting your routine again from scratch. If your curls are feeling a little dry, then go ahead and scrunch in a teeny bit more of the Expert Curl Cream.

For busy mornings, gym sessions or travel, keeping things simple is the difference between sticking to a routine and giving up.

What If I Have Longer Curls?

If your curls are longer or you prefer stronger hold, layering a curl cream with a gel can give you more structure and longevity. Longer curls also tend to be more dry since the oil takes longer to travel from the scalp through the hair lengths - adding a gel locks in both moisture and definition.

But if your goal is low fuss and natural movement, one product is often all you need.

Clean. Scrunch. Go.
